Avoiding Heat Exposure

Whether you are crawling through attics that can reach temperatures of over 150 degrees F, or simply working in the hot sun on the exterior of a house, you will be exposed to high heat conditions in the course of weatherization work. In this lesson, workers will learn how to identify potential heat stress situations, recognize the symptoms of heat stress, and take steps to prevent and treat heat exposure.

At the conclusion of this lesson, students will be able to:

  • Explain heat illness
  • Understand how heat illness can be prevented
