Understanding Audits

The building report that a crew chief gets from an auditor will contain information from the visual assessment of the building as well as from the diagnostic testing the auditor has completed. The crew chief must know how to interpret this inspection data so he can instruct the crew on how best to implement the scope of work.

After completing this lesson, crew chiefs will be able to:

  • Describe why the numbers generated by diagnostic tests are important
  • Interpret the results from diagnostic tests
  • Understand how testing equipment is used to check the progress of weatherization efforts
  • Explain how weatherization measures save energy
