Selecting Measures/ Work Orders

Most mobile home energy audits identify many different areas of opportunity for energy savings. Before proceeding with actual weatherization steps, the auditor must prioritize the work order by balancing issues regarding budget and accessibility against comfort, safety, durability, and the resulting energy savings potential of the tasks being considered.

This lesson covers the measures that typically provide the highest energy savings, and identifies other weatherization tasks that may offer additional opportunity for savings.

After completing this lesson, auditors will be able to:

  • Identify the most common sources of energy savings in a mobile home
  • Recognize the fact that not all weatherization measures can be accomplished, due to issues regarding accessibility, budget, and others
  • Understand the challenge of prioritizing the potential measures identified against the available budget
